Home Styling

For Mark and Prune it started at opposite ends of the world. For Mark as a hobby searching the OP shops for iconic pieces to restore and for Prune being carted around the French countryside as a child with brocante dealer parents.

While living in Europe together they were soon visiting flea markets and “vide grenier” (garage sales) around the countryside. Right then they knew they wanted to be in the furniture & deco business, presenting the eclectic products in a lifestyle context.

What transpired was the creation of Karma Creative Living in the year 2000, a lifestyle store that was an eclectic mix of stylish products sourced locally in French brocante, imported Indian antiques, and their own collection of home textiles, fashion and accessories. Over time they introduced a more modern and minimal timber furniture range.

Popularity grew and stores opened in Lyon, Paris, Brussels and Dubai. Managing design, imports and 5 retail stores kept them busy. What soon became the backbone of the business was the contemporary timber furniture designed in-house and Prune’s eye for upcoming European brands to keep the store fresh.

Mark and Prune’s hearts and minds were never far from Sydney and this is reflected in the products they now have to offer down under.
